With over 25 years of public and private securities and merger & acquisition transaction experience, Deutscher brings both the advisory and principal perspective to Anvil Capital. Most recently as the Managing Director heading Southwest Securities, Inc.’s Technology Services and Solutions Group, and the firm’s #1 producer, Deutscher has closed on a variety of transactions across several roles including placement agent and financial advisor lending his expertise in deal structure and capital raising.
As the founding principal of Anvil Investments, LLC, Deutscher led investments, acquisitions and roll-up activities in flexible packaging, legacy IT services, web-enabled business solutions and digital imaging industries. Deutscher also performed capital raise and corporate finance functions, and led divestment efforts on behalf of Anvil portfolio companies.
Deutscher presided over approximately 45 transactions in the financial services, outsourcing and EFT industry segments as the Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Development for Affiliated Computer Services, Inc (NYSE: ACS), responsible for all merger and acquisition activity. During his tenure, ACS conducted an initial public offering, experienced revenue growth from $240 million to $1 billion annually. Correspondingly, Net Income increased from $9 million to in excess of $50 million.
As a Board Member and functioning as General Counsel, Deutscher led Precept Business Service, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: PBSI), an affiliate of ACS, going public transaction and acquired 12 businesses; growing revenue from $70 million to $180 million while increasing EBITDA from $3 million to $12.5 million.
Deutscher began his career as a Corporate Finance attorney with Haynes and Boone, LLP, in Dallas. Deutscher received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and is also a member of the Texas State Bar and received his CPA license in 1988.
Currently, Deutscher is a member of the Touchdown Club serving the Rise School, the Cavalier Club serving the State Fair of Texas and Chairman of the Technology Committee for the Highland Park Independent School District. Previously, he was President of the Dallas Ft. Worth Wharton Alumni Club and University of Pennsylvania Secondary School Committee.
